Read the S 809 ratings in context

The numbers above come from Jamo's listing. They are not our lab results. The frequency range is the band Jamo lists within its stated tolerance. It does not tell you how much bass your room will have at your seat.

The power figures describe the speaker's rated handling. They do not set a minimum receiver wattage. Check your receiver's manual for supported speaker loads and wiring before use. Start at a low level when checking a new connection.

Work through the setup checks

Start with the model label on each cabinet. Similar names and matching finishes are not enough to prove that two speakers are the same model. Check the full model name before using a spec sheet or looking for parts.

Look for loose terminals, damaged drivers and unstable feet. Measure the space the whole speaker needs, including its feet and cables. The cabinet dimensions above do not establish safe clearance or the footprint of every fitted part.

Switch the receiver off before changing speaker wires. Match its channel labels to your layout. Keep loose wire strands from touching the other terminal. Use the manual for the exact speaker and receiver if a connection is unclear.

S 809 towers and separate height speakers

Jamo's listing describes top connection points for its separate S 8 ATM height module. The tower alone does not add a height channel. Check which speakers you actually have, which terminals serve them and which receiver channels you plan to use.

Choose positions from your room layout, then check every channel from your main seat. Do not copy another room's speaker count or receiver settings without checking your own gear. Our speaker placement guide can help plan the layout.

Keep a copy for your room

Tick each check as you finish it. Add tasks specific to your room, such as labelling a cable or leaving a door clear. Your browser saves the list on this device. Print it to keep a paper copy with your model and wiring notes.
