Cosmotek College
2188 Del Franco St #30, San Jose, CA 95131, United States
I am currently a Barbering student at Cosmotek, and about to take a State Board exam test.Under my research for Barber school, Cosmotek is the most affordable in term of tuition fee.I choose Cosmotek because of my budget. So, I dont expect much about the quality of the lecture/training.However, I was surprised by a well-designed training program communicates to my career, what is expected of them and, more importantly, how to meet my expectations. For example:1. I can bring my friends/family to Cosmotek to pratice under supervision of Cosmotek instructor.2. In the 3rd week at Cosmotek, I can confidently work on the clients. Sometimes, I have 6 clients of a day. (with tips). Cosmotek has a lot of clients (REAL CLIENTS), especially at weekend. So, there is no place you can practice without license like Cosmotek!3. Beside doing actual procedures in class. You can bring your own questions or subject to ask, and instructor will assist/support your learning needs.4. Cosmotek is open 7 days/week, 9am - 9pm. I have a weekday job, so the time is very flexible to me to finish the program quickly.5. Instructors can speak multiple languages beside English such as Spanish and Vietnamese. They are very approachable and supportive. Instructors will get to detail and specify the answer in every question you ask! This is not only a job, it is career. So, we all have to be prepared and take it seriously. Cosmotek is really a good place to learn, and YOU WILL BE PROFESSIONAL.

I think this is a solid 3 star experience. I went in for a personalized facial with Susan and we decided on an acne facial with dermaplane. Susan is very sweet and very knowledgable but she was not careful. I have cuts all over my face that sting and burn. I attached an image below. The experience isn't something I would consider luxurious. The room is cluttered with boxes and the experience was just okay.Pros: the staff is VERY NICE!! Everyone was friendly and kind and Susan was also very friendly and easy to talk to. Susan is very good at extracting blackheads it barely hurt and didn't leave marks on my face which is a plus. Another pro is that Susan is a bio-chemist so she has a background in making skin care which I think gives her some extra knowledge when doing facials. I didn't break out from the facial and I think my skin does feel less congested. Also, when I left my face wasn't all red and raw from the extractions which is a plus because my face usually does get that way which means she's really good at it!There's a few things that bothered me.1. She makes a homemade blackhead remover which she says isn't FDA approved because she doesn't sell it so i was a bit uncomfortable but also it didn't irritate my skin so I guess it's fine.2. She was very harsh when she was cleaning my face or doing masks so it wasn't the most soothing experience…3. She was not careful when dermaplaning and it left a bunch of cuts on my face. (I don't know if that's normal as this is my first time getting it done but I don't think it's supposed to leave me scratched up and burning)4. She put a mask on after the dermaplaning and didn't warn me that my face would burn like crazy from it and I'm usually not sensitive but I felt like my face was on fire so she put a fan on to help it cool.5. She wasn't careful when using the high frequency wand either and when she would talk to me she would leave it right near my eye and I had to physically move my face because it hurt.6. She kept pressing on my cystic acne which I told her hurt so that was a bit annoying.7. I think with dermaplaning I wish I got a bit more insight on after it was over such as don't go in the sun after, don't go to the gym, no hot showers, etc. Which I had to ask for rather than have her warn me beforehand.Overall this was an OKAY experience. Not the best but not the worst. I think for some people who don't care as much about the pampering aspect of a facial would enjoy this more because Susan does seem knowledgable in what she does.

Veterinary Emergency Group
725 Ridder Park Dr, San Jose, CA 95131, United States
We had to take our little maltese here during the weekend when our normal vet was closed. She had a large foxtail in her ear and was crying in pain. We were grateful to have a place that was opened. The pros about this place is the entire team is caring and knowledgeable. The bad is they over promise, super expensive (far more than our normal vet perhaps also because they provide amenities like free drinks but I rather have good service at decent prices) and they assume all little dogs are feisty and need to be muzzled. When we arrived they gave us the impression she would be seen relatively soon and they did a short triage but we were not seen for over an hour, they told me they would give her something soon to ease the pain but did not. I had full expectations an emergency room would have a long wait but that is why setting expectations is key, if they had not told me we would be seen soon I would not have had hope. When we saw the assistant she said she was going to give her a moderate sedative so they couldremove the object from her ear. I told them she was a very active 2 year old but they go by weight and the sedative had zero impact, I suspect it was also due to her being really anxious about being muzzled. I respect Vets need to muzzle a dog as needed but she has been to her vet and even petco for shots and it the easiest going and most gentle dog we have ever had. They kept saying you know how little dogs can be - so feisty but they should not assume all are. They then gave her another sedative and once again it had zero impact. They they had to do an iv sedative. We ended up be there for almost 3 hours and it could have been 90 minutes and $250 less if they sedated her properly. As mentioned above the staff and Vet were thorough and kind but the mess up on the sedation meant our little dog was in pain for longer than necessary and it cost us more - ended up almost 1k for a foxtail! My onlyother recommendation is they should not assume all little dogs bite - they dont. Ironically we had to take our dog back to our normal vet as she was lethargic and we thought she might have had an infection related to the foxtail and they told us how she was so easy - she let them check her ears, gums and stomach with no fuss - and no muzzle.

Chethana!! I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and to appreciate you for all that you do. You will remain special to us for the rest of my kids life as you are my first kids first ever teacher in life. I knew from the minute I first stepped into your classroom that you were a dedicated and energetic preschooler teacher. your passion towards your work is something i always appreciate. What a teacher writes on the blackboard of life can never be erased, You have written some important and good things on my kids blackboard which laid a strong base for his future. You have created a caring and engaging environment that has set the tone for his entire educational career. You have molded my child into someone who is excited about school, and genuinely curious. Thank you for your extraordinary work!!My kid was with you for 2 years and the change you brought in him is very evident. Along with the typical syllabus you have tremendously improved his motor skills, sensory skills, communication skills, team play, guiding the younger kids, you taught him about magical words to use for better communication, about good habits, importance of family values and list goes on..You always involved me in the learning process of my kid which in turn provided him a continuous education without any gaps.I strongly feel that you dont need to be monitored because you are a person who is very accountable and genuine to the self-first than to anybody. I feel lucky to have you as my kids teacher.Once during our conversation, she was like-- I would like to prepare the kid beyond kindergarten, so that they will face the actual kindergarten with lot of confidence as they already knew everything that will be taught in KG, that confidence will actually continue for the rest of the life for that particular kid. This is really an impressive concept. Kids needs confidence nothing more. You absolutely nailed it.THANK YOU CHETHANA.. I MEAN IT, and you deserve this.---TO all the parents, I highly recommend Mrs Chethana, if you are searching for a teacher for your kid. undoubtedly, she can take care of your child like a mother at the same time she prepares your kid for the race in this competitive world to win.
Signature Events by Christina Romero, LLC
1650 Zanker Rd # 123, San Jose, CA 95112, United States
Without Christina, our wedding would have been completely different and I would have been filled with anxiety and stress. Christina was no doubt the best decision we made. Consider this part of self-care - you want to enjoy your wedding and your relatives and friends, without Christinas coordination, my wife and I wouldnt have been able to enjoy ourselves as much. She and Samantha helped us to coordinate our contracts, vendors, timeline, make difficult decisions, manage stress, and just overall take care of us. Working with Christina was a breeze - the communication really picks up a lot when you get closer to your date. We live in NYC and would have conference calls with Christina and Samantha. It worked great! The day of our wedding was spectacular. Every single guest said that our event was so smooth and beautiful. My favorite parts of hiring Christina: she has a great laugh, shes energized by challenges and is solution focused, she worked well with our mixing of cultures, she holds herself to a high standard and people in the business know her, and she just gets things done. Christina is also very passionate about weddings. Her excitement made me excited. We wanted to be sure that we matched with a person that could understand our different families and be LGBTQ friendly, and Christina met all of that and more. Christina not only fit our tight budget, but also understood where we were coming from on making sure we didnt overspend on anything else or leave any money on the table with other vendors. She really went above and beyond.I would hire Christina and her team again for any other event. She knows what she is doing and makes sure that you are cared for well. If youre still considering a planner, my biggest recommendation is that you must get one and Christina is the best.
Air Sharks Heating & Air Conditioning
1560 N 4th St #102, San Jose, CA 95112, United States
Great impression of Air Sharks from Beginning to End.I originally sent out request for quotes to other HVAC providers. I decided to also send it out to Air Sharks.Rene sent me a follow up message explaining the current deals that Air Sharks were currently offering for Air Ducting work along with AC and Heat pump units. I felt that this would be a great opportunity to see what pricing they could offer. So I decided to take a chance and called their office to request an in-person home consultation and request for quote.I received a text message to confirm the in-home consultation. I was notified that Khaled would be my project manager. Khaled was very professional throughout the consultation while remaining respectful and thorough. He had presentation slides prepared on the game plan for the install including explanation of the new air ducting, AC unit and Heat Pump unit. With the level of detail and professionalism Khaled provided, I was anticipating AirSharks bid to be the highest of the companies I was comparing. However, they turned out to be the most cost-effective!After a couple days of comparing other companies to Air Sharks, I ultimately decided accept their AirSharks bid. Honestly, I was hesitant due to a lack of reviews in comparison to the other companies. But was also informed that while they are a relatively new company, their owners are very seasoned professionals in the HVAC industry. That eased my nerves and I decided to follow my gut. Ultimately, I was sold on how I was treated throughout the process. For my project, they installed new air ducting, AC and Heat Pump units.I was able to work from home while they were working on the install.Happy with the outcome of the project! The entire Air Sharks team did an excellent job and exceeded my expectations. Special thanks to Rene, Jaime, Carlos, Adrian, Manny and Khaled!
Colibri Pottery Studio
1620 Old Oakland Rd D102, San Jose, CA 95131, United States
I went with two of my girlfriends for a weekend bonding activity and we had a blast! We originally found Colibri on Groupon but had a few needs that did not fit perfectly with what was offered on Groupon. When I called to ask questions and try and book our session, Ashley helped me out and was incredibly accommodating for our groups specific needs! She worked with me patiently as I coordinated with my friends and helped us seamlessly book our experience just one day prior to when we went in.Once at the studio, we took a class with Zena. Shes been working in pottery for 2 years and had extensive experience teaching us from the basics and ground up. Our class had 7 people total and the studio space was cozy (with other activities going on, including ceramics painting and canvas painting), but we were able to feel really engaged by Zena and her clearly understandable teaching style. She gave us lots of time to play around ourselves, while also helping us troubleshoot our pieces with each step so that we had a strong foundation on which to build our pieces. In addition, toward the end of class when our time was running a bit shorter and our pieces were not as finished as we would have liked, she also was able to be really hands-on and help us refine and finish our piece in a way that we were happy with. (I thought we would only have time to make 1 piece, but we actually got to come away from the class with 2 pieces!) Finally, she helped us pick out colors for pieces which the studio would help us glaze and bake, after which we would pick them up in 4-6 weeks. Zena was super patient, encouraging, and interactive - an awesome teacher, really fun energy, and an amazing first person to introduce us all to pottery!12/10 would bring my friends or my partner again for a future activity or date night!! Thank you Zena, Ashley, and Colibri Pottery Studio for an incredible day and experience!
Steven J. Bates, MD
2581 Samaritan Dr #102, San Jose, CA 95124, United States
I could not have made a better decision than choosing Dr. Bates as my plastic surgeon. I had been wanting a BBL on and off for years, as I had wanted to transform my athletic build to more feminine. When I consulted with Dr. Bates, I knew he envisioned everything exactly what I was hoping to accomplish with this surgery. The two most important things that stood out to me was his honesty about the results he could accomplish with one BBL surgery and the fact that he was not trying to sell himself. He really showed that he cares about his patients, which is why I chose to move forward with him, rather than various other surgeons in CA.During my consultation, he was also very honest about the complications that can happen with getting a BBL, and gave plenty of pamphlets explaining everything one should know before surgery. I had already talked myself out of getting a BBL various times because I would go read the horror stories about women going to Miami or Mexico to get a less expensive procedure done, but then are faced with numerous complications, and unfortunately, sometimes death. With Dr. Bates, because he showed he cared about his patients and was being honest about everything, I felt extremely confident in him and his staff. Fast forward to two days later, I was in the OR getting a BBL by Dr. Bates! Not to brag, but I had probably one of the best recoveries post BBL surgery. The day after my surgery, I had to stop myself from moving around too much. I felt amazing, only a little sore on my abdomen, back, and butt. A better word to describe the feeling was sensitive. I felt so good, and already happy with my new body, even though I had a lot of swelling. My 1-week post-op appointment with Dr. Bates made me feel like a million dollars, because I felt amazing and was healing very well. Of course, there are so many factors that play into recovery, but I can guarantee that a plastic surgeon who performed your surgery properly plays a large role.If you are looking for a plastic surgeon, I highly recommend choosing Dr. Bates. He is not only a phenomenal surgeon, but he is also a very down to earth human being. I made the best decision for myself when choosing Dr. Bates as my plastic surgeon!

I've never had a need for an attorney until an unfortunate auto accident resulted in an injury that left me feeling lost, helpless, and frustrated. I found myself under a lot of stress with pressure from insurance claims adjusters to sign a liability release all the while dealing with pain and incurring expenses for medical treatment. Because my case was small, I was not able to find an attorney to take my case, until I connected with James who graciously took time to listen to my situation. He was kind, patient, understanding and ultimately accepted representing me. I cannot overstate the awesome job he did for me from start to closing on a settlement that exceeded my expectations. Simply put, James is good people, and I very strongly recommend him for any personal injury case because no matter how big or small it maybe, he will work hard for you.
