Comment: Very rude. Sent feral kitten to veg 6/20 and kitten disappeared. It was not on shelter website even though they said they will transfer the kitten but apparentlynot done. Spoke to Sean he said veg does not have contract with the shelter even though this information was posted outside the shelter. I spoke to sjacc they didnt have information on this kitten. Beware

Comment: I brought in some critically ill foster kittens, and the staff were so kind. One of the Vet Techs cried along with me when we put one of them down. We are working very hard to keep the other kitten alive. I can’t say enough good things about the staff here.

Comment: Dr. Boyle and her team were simply amazing the minute we walked in the door. They helped birth two beautiful Norwich terrier puppies, it was the most beautiful day the way the cared both puppies, their momma and us, Thank you soooo very much!!!

Comment: Brought my 14 year old Mia in after Calling a few other places that quoted me a six hour wait. She was breathing extremely weird and labored. Thankfully, they recommended VEG San Jose. I called them immediately and they told me to come on in and they could see her right away. Within seconds of walking in, they had four different people working on her. The doctor immediately gave me a rundown of my options and was very transparent about pricing. After getting my consent, they continue to work on her promptly. Mia was put in an oxygen chamber for her breathing and the awesome techs took X-rays as well to check out her lungs. Their team was fast and efficient and helping my dog breathe better and to calm her down. I had never been inside of an ER vet that had an open room concept but it calmed my nerves to see all the techs and vets working away with all the animals and collaborating with each other to provide the best care. I couldn’t be happier with the care she received. Thank you VEG San Jose team!

Comment: My vet strongly recommended VEG when my dog required emergency surgery due to swallowing a ball. From the moment we arrived, everyone at VEG treated us like VIPs. I was allowed to stay with my dog for as long as I needed, even during the surgery (though I chose not to). They kept me updated throughout, explaining all options and providing clear cost estimates.I was particularly struck by the positive atmosphere among the VEG staff. They are genuinely happy people who provide exceptional care for your pet.

Comment: I had same positive experience as many of the other reviews. When I called, I was able to talk to the vet immediately who was calming and ensured Penny could be seen and taken care of when we arrived. Penny is 16 years and had collapsed and went limp (due to heart failure). When we arrived the vet saw Penny immediately and gave me an assessment. I was able to get my questions answered to decide on a course of treatment. Luckily Penny recovered and we have her on palliative medications. The vet patiently explained what the medications would help with and that there will most likely be a point when we need to decide on euthanasia. I’m grateful Penny was able to come home with us and we still get to have her with us for a while longer. I appreciate the support and care VEG provided. Although I would definitely recommend them to others and would return there if needed, I really hope I don’t have another emergency reason to have to go back!

Comment: I wasnt sure how this place could have over 150 reviews on google and yelp and still have a pristine 5.0 rating. but after coming in last night with my dog, its very clear why there is not a single review below 5 stars. i could not have asked for a better team to treat my dog.my dog was attacked by a larger dog last week and started having severe swelling on the head, that seemed to be getting worse. he became lethargic and lost his appetite. i could tell that his pain was worsening.i called them at 2am, crying because I was so worried about my dogs wound. even just through the phone, the vets were incredibly supportive and empathetic. i felt reassured and relieved by the vets responses over the phone. i immediately brought my dog to VEG after the call, and stayed there from 2am to 5am. all of the staff were extremely empathetic, kind, genuine, and knowledgeable. you can really feel the chemistry of the team and how much they care. the energy and vibe throughout the clinic was so warm, welcoming, and comforting. dr. wickham was the vet in charge of my dogs treatment. she and her team were super upfront, open, and flexible about the treatment and price.the treatment went really well, and i could immediately tell how relieved my dog felt after. hes practically back to his normal self now--though, he has a funny little haircut until his fur grows out again. i am so happy that i chose to come to VEG out of all the urgent care clinics in the area. i will definitely be recommending this place to all the pet lovers i know. thank you guys for everything! :D

Comment: From the time we arrived, everyone was so kind and attentive. Upon entering, I looked to the right and saw those big doors open and they said come on in! it was almost like we were at the Pearly Gates. 😄🙏🏼😇Angels I tell you. We were so worried about Jax and they were so genuinely compassionate and just sweet about everything. We could be right there with Jax for the diagnostic stuff. We were able to comfort him as much as was possible in his ailing state. We got answers to questions about the root of Jaxs illness quite literally as the Doctor was observing them and that expedience is what allowed us to make decisions most quickly / in the best interest of Jax. All staff from the people at the front desk to the nurses to the main Doc herself, they all worked seamlessly, like a well-oiled machine. Great teamwork with stellar communication. After we decided that Jax quality of life was irreparable, Dr Lee and staff gave us time to be alone with him in a private, super comfy atmosphere that was so peaceful. They gently checked on us to see if we needed water or anything at all. What was actually the worst day of our lives, the awesome folks at VEG made it as painless as possible for us to say goodbye to our best friend of 12 years, Jax. They were game changers whose first focus truly is in the comfort and what is best for our furbabies / their patients.💝☯️💝

Comment: Hello everyone, my little dog 🐶 had an accident and I took him to this hospital 🏥 the truth is Im happy because since I arrived they treated me quickly and were very kind to my dog and you can see the entire procedure they do to your pet, apart from the fact that I cant A lot of English, there are kind people who help you understand everything and the treatment towards us, also as owners of the animals, was very wonderful, thank you 🙏 for so much love and respect I felt comfortable and calm. I think and it should also be said that I felt very comfortable with the payment. The truth is that they understand the families situations and budget very well and that made me feel very good and calm and they do not force you to do anything. They explain the entire process of your pet. . Thank you once again for your hard work and love towards the animals that are part of our home. Thank you

Comment: Our cat rapidly developed an abscess in her anal gland and within 30 minutes of calling the vet we were already being brought back into a private room getting her vitals checked. They do blood work inhouse and have a pharmacy on site. All the staff were super nice and very caring towards our pet.

Comment: I brought my rabbit here for an emergency and they took phenomenal care of her. It is always a gamble with exotic animals how good the care will be, but I feel really strongly that they saved Hazels life today and got her stabilized enough to get back to primary care. The staff were very kind and thorough and kept me informed the whole time. Hazel needed a blood draw and she was dehydrated with tiny veins to begin with and they still managed to successfully draw the blood they needed, something that has been difficult in the past. If you have rabbits you should feel safe taking them here.

Comment: Right after entering the foyer room we were immediately buzzed in and taken directly to the examination hall. NO WAIT! The hall was huge with an open space layout. It was very futuristic with examination tables and equipment, almost like the medical bay of a starship, but not as white. The colors were dark and subdued. I imagine to keep the animals calm. Anyways, I digress, but great interior design. The doctor who received us was extremely professional and diagnosed the situation with our rabbit. She and the rest of the staff explained everything with detail and even showed us how to handle Malai when giving the meds. They even administtered the meds to show us how. So far Malai is doing great!

Comment: Today I rushed my cat Bubba to VEG for a suspected urinary tract disease. The staff were very prompt; they opened the door for me and rushed us to the back. They put Bubba in a private room, and he was examined immediately by the staff. Dr. Julia came in no time to a take urine sample, which was analyzed swiftly and the proper diagnosis delivered. I must say that the standard of care at this facility is second to none. They contained our worries, offered us refreshments, treated Bubba very gently, and thoroughly explained the issues. I wouldn’t have asked for more, and bubba feels better already.Thank you VEG for the excellent care.

Comment: I am beyond pleased with the service I received at VEG. I had no idea about this place, but found them through Google, hoping for a better experience. I came there in the morning. A VEG staff member met me at the door and rushed me to the back. They had my dog on the table, before they even asked my name. Although the critical emergency didnt end the way I had hoped, as end of life care was the only real option for my senior dog Bailey (14+), I couldnt have found a better place. The doctor was honest and realistic with me. They didnt try to push super expensive treatment with inflated promises. We had a real meaningful discussion about what was best for Bailey longterm. Then even the end of life care process was amazing. They have a special room that allows your pet to pass away with dignity, not on a cold table. Im glad I found VEG! Dont change a thing other than maybe starting a pet insurance service. From this experience I can tell the director has a true understanding of emergency vet care. Even the cleaning lady was awesome! VEG is NEXT LEVEL! Thank You!

Comment: This was the worst experience Ive ever had a vet clinic. I will never go back and give them my business nor would I ever recommend them ever. If I could leave a 0-star rating, I would. I took my dog to the ER at VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) San Jose CA location, after she was bitten by another dog, resulting in an open wound. Despite the urgency, we waited almost 2 hours for my dog to receive any care. When she finally got her stitches, they sent her home without even cleaning the blood off her leg. A band-aid wasnt even applied to the open stitches! Worst of all the stitches still had sand and dirt on them!Our second visit to check on the wound was even worse. We waited another two hours just to get an estimate! Dr. Katherine Falk Young and Angelica Carmona were incredibly unprofessional, claiming that an open wound was stable while my pet was clearly in pain with discharge seeping out. Their dismissive attitude and lack of proper care were shocking and unacceptable. Anytime I would bring up any questions regarding my pet Angelica would quickly cut me off and was very rude about the situation. The doctors were very uncompassionate towards my pet, and handled her roughly when inspecting the wound, showing no empathy. They didnt even schedule a follow up to check on the stitch or a set date to remove them! I was so angry and in disbelief that I left to go to another hospital.While the front desk staff was accommodating, the doctors bad attitude and unprofessional handling of my pets situation were appalling. I would not recommend anyone to bring their pet here. VEG needs to seriously address these issues to provide the level of care that pet owners expect and deserve.
