Comment: Less than impressed with classes here. We signed my son up after a great experience at a birthday party, but Ive been completely underwhelmed with the classes. Based on the 1:1 trial class, it was advised that my 5 year old go into the lowest level classes. I trusted the coach and enrolled him there. After the first class, it was clear to me that his attention and ability to follow instructions was far beyond the very young kids in his assigned class. First belt test comes around and I was told expressly to NOT register him for it because hes so new. That made sense so I didnt. We get there on belt test day as I was told to do so he could do a practice test, and the coaches seemed shocked that we were there and scrambled to ask why he was there but not registered. They ultimately let him participate and he would have passed, but didnt get his belt because I didnt register him... as I was told to not do. Final nail in the coffin and the reason were not returning: there was a very obviously sick parent and child duo (coughing, sneezing, runny noses, profusely sweating, and appeared to be very faint) at one of our recent classes. I observed for a bit, then made a decision to say something to the coach at the desk. He told me oh that child is special needs. I love that they bring special needs students into mainstream classes (and also dont think it was at all applicable for the coach to call that out), however regardless of abilities, NO sick children or their sick parents should be present!! The coach at the desk said hed let the supervisor know, but the child and parent were not asked to leave. I also emailed about this health and safety issue, and got no response. Extremely frustrating, and feels like a lack of care for the health and safety of their students.

Comment: Our family has been at Wushu Central for 15 years. That, in and of itself, should tell you what we think. :) My daughter started here when she was 2.5 years old. We chose Wushu Central above all other places because they now only know wushu - they know kids. They include knowledge of child development into their curriculum, building life skills as well as martial arts skills. My daughter completed her third-degree black belt, and thats given her the confidence to persist in doing difficult things and to know her own strength.My son started classes in Fall 2021, while the pandemic was still going strong. Wushu Central not only pivoted to make their in-person classes very safe, but added an entire online program at a time when other studios would not pivot and wound up going out of business. I say this to show that Wushu Central takes their work and mission seriously.My husband also did TaiChi here for a while, so its a whole family affair. :) Their recent expansion and growth is a testament to the quality of instruction and care of the staff/teachers.

Comment: I hope my review can help prospect clients. My son became a Wushu student in 2018 and he took a 360 degree change, in all aspects, but I will focus on his physical (motor skills) improvements.Since kindergarten he received Adaptive PE. When he started Wushu, you could see the change within a year. This past August, his school coach said that all his tests had improved from 75% to 100% and in fact the tests before attending Wushu were 5% on the right side and 15% on the left side (since he is left-handed). As of today he will no longer take adaptive PE and all thanks to wushu and his coaches.This truly fills me with so much happiness and satisfaction. That is why I dare to write because if you, like me, are desperate or sometimes frustrated to find a place that helps your child in all aspects of his life, come here and youll see the life changes! My son now wants to go every day, and he doesnt talk much, so with that he lets me know that he likes being there, that they make him feel welcome, that no one is going to bully you and I love that about them, the big emphasis on inclusion!Very grateful to our whole Wushu team because they make my children and I feel part of their family! 100% happy Wushu Central client!

Comment: We went in for a trial class for our 2.5 year old and she really enjoyed the 30 minute Tiny Tigers class. She got 1-on-1 attention and was made to feel comfortable and was jumping, sliding and balancing along the obstacle course. However the classes are just out of our price range $179/month to attend one class a week. That comes out to $45 for a 30 minute class which was essentially a gymnastics class/obstacle course.

Comment: My son has been going for wushu for more than a year now. We loved it enough to buy the whole year classes for this year. Here are the reasons why we loved wushu1) Instructors and how they handle kids. Coach Tan, Coach Coach Kavyon and all the other coaches are wonderful with kids. They are especially awesome at handling kids who are slightly shy (need confidence), less vocal kids and they encourage them all the time without stressing them out. This is the single biggest reason why we love this place2) They are very chill with classes and makeup classes. This personally helps us more as we tend to miss classes and we know if we want we can just attend a different class.3) Our son has hyper extension and sense of balance does not come easily for him. I see a steady progress in that aspect and hoping to see him improve moreI would definitely recommend this class to anybody interested

Comment: We signed up my kids 6 months ago (2 and 4yo) and while at the beginning they sometimes had a hard time to focus, after a month or so they are fully engaged in their classes. My youngest one is with tiny tigers which preps them to some skills like jumping, balancing, etc. and my older one is with the little heroes. I think the incredible thing about Wushu is the coaches! They are so patient with the kids and know how to get them to engage in the class even if they are shy or not feeling like it on this day. They also teach them to focus and I have seen incredible progress for my 2 kids in just 6 months. It is the first activity they do outside of school that they are excited about going to! Thank you!

They have convenient class schedules which really makes it easy for busy schedules and the coaches are amazing! Comment: I came into this place a bit skeptical about the price and quality of training, especially since Im an adult (after college) registering myself as a beginner because I didnt get the chance to do any fun sports outside of school as a kid.My impression for my first week of classes was a positive one, with each session encouraging me to continue coming in. The instructors are really supportive and understanding (they know what its like to feel frustrated or disappointed about not getting the moves at the start). Comment: Not the best experience if you are trying this out for your kid and it doesnt work out. You wont get even part of your money back due to their strict policies. We started with the trial classes and while I was on the fence about it, I decided to give it a go. After couple of classes, we realized it was not going to be the right fit for my kid. We only did about 3 classes but ended up paying for additional 2 months (next month and last month tuition). When I called to schedule make-up or 1/1 to use the classes I paid for, I never got a call back. I wish they are a little bit more understanding and flexible with their policies.

The teachers are great in communicating and managing the kids to ensure they are listening, following instructions, respecting adults while having fun. There was no break in lessons and online option worked pretty well for our son.The team of coaches at Wushu Central is amazing. They are not super strict, at least for the young kids, but that is not what we are looking for at this age. The coaches work very hard to teach their students and keep them engaged.

Wushu is good about encouraging students and teaching them good values and respect. They are consistent and keep the student engaged while helping them strive for improvement. Comment: We joined Wushu Central during the pandemic with their online classes, twice a week. Their online classes are run well and are engaging. They make it really fun to learn forms, but also balance it with the need to practice. My son loves it and its fun for me to hear him laughing in class because the coaches intro new forms in fun ways but also be really focused when it comes time to practice for belt tests.Wushu Central also provides free weekly 15 min 1-1s with coaches, which is really helpful for kids getting direct, immediate feedback for learning their forms correctly or learning other new skills. This also helps the kids feel connected, inspired and known. Even without the 1-1s, though, the online zoom class coaches do a great job of engage with the kids. I was surprised that they recognized and knew my son the first time we visited the studio for a belt pickup.If and when there are any concerns, Sifu Chang and the in-studio staff are very responsive and address them right away. Overall, its been a very positive experience and weve recently upgraded to classes four times a week in person as a result.Thank you Sifu Chang & Wushu Central Coaches!

Comment: It all started as a fascination from watching the movie Kung Fu Panda at age 4. Wushu Central opened the door to the world of this amazing martial art form and turned it into the endless need of wanting to learn more. At the time, my son was more of a shy child. Wushu central provided the coaches who were by far the most patient and caring, giving the best scope for my son to blossom. Special shout out to Coach Tan, Coach Larry, Coach Matt, Coach Mike, Coach Terry and Coach Troy.Fast forward 13yrs, my son is now a confident 5th degree black belt and giving back to the community as an instructor. Comment: At first I was hesitant and skeptical of the cost. After about 4 classes and seeing improvement I came to realize that it is all well worth it. The communication is wonderful, the teachers are great and the level system is fair and understandable for everyone. Customer service is great in person and on the phone. Comment: I love Wushu Central! As an older adult I enrolled in my first classes last summer on a wellness search after a year of treatment for pancreatic cancer. I signed up for the Tai Chi class looking to rebuild balance, strength, endurance, and vitality. Also, I am in the Wushu Orientation Kung Fu class where, as a martial arts beginner, I hoped to learn the meaning of some of the terms I hear in Tai Chi, like press, block, pull...The coaches are skilled, welcoming, upbeat, and encouraging. They wave and greet me by name every class, as they seem to do with every student. Even though all my classes have been on zoom with the pandemic, I have learned a lot, and look forward to this community of students and coaches every week.And after a long physical decline, I find myself now super delighted to mark progress in the other direction with a 24 form certificate in Tai Chi, and a move from white to yellow belt in Kung Fu. My health is on an upswing again, and Wushu Central has had a big part in that improvement.

The coaches relate to each student on the students level, regardless of age and talk to them with a growth mindset in a way the student can understand. Comment: My son started going to Wushu Central when he was three year old. As with any kid at this age, he had no attention or focus. The coaches here did an amazing job in keeping him focused and attentive. All coaches are excellent in their handling of kids, adding interactive and fun activities to keep them engaged. After shelter-in-place, the classes moved to online mode. Even though the interactivity and some of the fun activities are missed, the classes are still held with great detail and rigor. They also added a private 1:1 class at no additional cost, where the students can get personal attention from the coach. The themes are well structured and educative for kids, with coaches giving them life tips at the end of the class. Overall this has served as a great tool for my child to get some exercise and maintain fitness while gaining some focus.

Comment: We love WuShu Central! My kids have been going to Wushu Central for 6 years now. My son started when he was 4 and he is turning 10 in a few months. My daughter was 6 when she started. We have loved the care and attention that the coaches give to all the kids.Both of our kids are non-neurotypical. My daughter has dyslexia, OCD, Autism and ADHD, but despite those things, she has been able to progress very well with the help of some wonderful coaches and she really enjoys learning new forms. My son has dyslexia and dyspraxia, He struggles with left and right, which made doing some of the forms very hard for him to remember. There were times he got frustrated and felt like he couldnt do it. At one point, we thought about letting him give up and stop going, but with the help of many wonderful coaches (Coach Terry, Coach Tan, and Coach Larry), my son persisted and began feeling more confident. He then began to become more and more excited about improving and doing his best. We were paying for the Black Belt training package that allows the kids to attend as many classes per week as they want to, so at the beginning of the pandemic, he started going to class 5 days a week. Since it was on Zoom, it was easy to let him watch and learn as much as he wanted to. Its been such a great experience for him, despite the pandemic. Sifu Chang did an awesome job quickly transitioning the classes to Zoom within a few weeks of the pandemic shut down. Since our family has several high risk people, we were not able to return to in person classes when they opened back up, so we are so grateful that Sifu Chang has made it easy for the kids to keep up despite not being there in person. We have also gotten to work with more coaches since transitioning to Zoom, and all of them have been great with our kids. Sifu Chang set it up so that students attending class on Zoom can also get 15 min private lessons with a coach each week. That makes a big difference if there is some part of a form that the student is struggling with. We have made lifelong friends with other families there, and we couldnt be happier that we decided to go to WuShu Central.

About 1.5 years ago, we checked out three other martial arts schools before deciding on Wushu Central, and were very happy with that decision. Of the schools that we visited, Wushu Central has the best balance of teaching martial arts while making the classes fun and engaging for younger students. In particular, my son looks forward to his weekly private lessons with Coach Cameron, who has both a great attitude and is an excellent instructor.Wushu Central has also done a wonderful job adapting the school to the pandemic with a combination of zoom group classes and private lessons. For belt promotion, they offer contactless pick up of the new belt, or theyll mail it at no extra cost.We do hope to go back to in-person classes next year. Comment: My son has been going to Wushu Central for the last 3.5 years since he was 2 1/2 years old, although it feels like forever. The teachers there are all very friendly and good with children of all ages. Since the pandemic, we went from once a week to 45 minutes online zoom classes twice a week, and free 15 minute one on one appointment with any available coach. If you miss a class, all classes are recorded so you can review or retake at any time, at your leisure. Belt tests conducted through Zoom and private 15 minute lessons can all be scheduled through the Wushu Central App. Wushu Central’s quick adaptation to the evolving situation in early 2020 was most impressive. Combined with their already existent mobile app, and daily to weekly emails from Sifu Chang, we were never left in the dark. They quickly invested in necessary technology to move classes into online format. If all my son’s school and extracurricular classes had responded in similar fashion, the first few months of the pandemic would have been so different versus complete radio silence! The other evening, my son said I needed to exercise (he was right), and coached me through some different strength training exercises he learned from his coaches and it was hilarious and impressive all at once. This appealed to my sons personality and was less intimidating than classes that would require him to actually physically make contact with opponents.I think that Wushu Central does offer special classes that include sparring/physical contact with an opponent for older kids/adults as well as womens self-defense classes and Tai-Chi.Besides Sifu (aka Teacher) David, most of the other teachers have come up through the ranks as Sifu Davids students. Generally, the teachers are 5 to 15 years older than their students and were/are students themselves and thus relate very well with the kids. The school is fairly relaxed about the mastery of skills at this level, but I expect that approaching the higher belt levels, the expectations and requirements for reaching the next level will increase. But for youngsters, as long as they attend classes, and have a semblance of the moves being learned, theyll move up from level to level in steady progression.Classes are twice a week for 45 minutes each, though during normal (non-COVID) times, they also offer the same classes back to back in a 1.5 hour session. During this last year (2020), Wushu Centrals been offering Zoom-based sessions as well as onsite classes. The on-site classes are limited in the number of students and an onsite class will always have the same students...no mixing from other classes.The main thing for us is how much Patrick enjoys the classes. And during these times, its one of the few organized, physical activities that he gets to do on a weekly basis.

Comment: My son had started Wushu Central at the age of 4 and continuing for 5 years now. In these years I never ever felt of dropping him. To start with coaches are friendly, management is prompt, practice studio is great. Sifu David is so amazing, I remember once he drove to my house to deliver something I ordered as it was needed urgently. My son likes it, he waits for the classes eagerly and I think those few hours classes in the week are the most happiest hours for him. That’s enough for me to invest in Wushu Central. Now during the pandemic online classes, I used to spend sometime watching him in the classes (otherwise it’s my wife who takes him to studio classes), I can see they have many fun moments while learning. They run promotions time to time and I used to buy prepaid years and stack free months because I know my son is continuing here for long. I want to thank each and every staff of Wushu Central to make it worth.

When my son passed a recent belt test conditioning challenge, he told his coach, Wow! I didnt think I could do that! The owner of the Academy, Coach Sifu, is am outstanding leader for his staff and students. His staff treat all students with love and kindness but at the same time have very high expectations. Comment: We enrolled our little one at Wushu Central at age 4 (little heroes, white belt)...my initial thought of enrolling was just to allow her to have some new activities and learn something new. Shes now almost 6 and we are still with Wushu. We love all the coaches - theyre engaging and knows how to have fun with the little kids. I love how the coaches remind the kids to respect people, i love their lessons, each topic not only relates to wushu but also their daily lives. I often have to remind my little one what did Coach say? please focus what does focus mean? and my little one will remember what was being taught. Before pandemic, we would go into the studio for lessons and its great. The studio is clean and staffs are friendly. Now during Stay In Place, they offer online courses. Though its not the same as in person, its still great for my daughter to see her coaches weekly. I highly recommend Wushu Central its a great set of skills for anyone to have, even if not advance skills, the basic skills are helpful!

Comment: My son Kai started at Wushu Central a few months ago. I came across an incredible promotion and knew that he needed some outside activity since we’ve been SIP since March. Sifu Chang and the rest of the coaches have been absolutely incredible in meeting the needs of our kids especially during this trying time. My son looks forward every week to class and is already on his third belt. He thrives on that sense of accomplishment and motivates him to go regularly. He attended a camp over the summer which he loved and he learned how to use nunchucks. He’s taken other Kung Fu classes but has never excelled until he started at Wushu Central. They have an incredibly safe and clean facility and take extreme precaution in ensuring the health and safety with the kids with regular temperature checks and routine cleaning. Comment: When I first started attending classes at Wushu Central, I didn’t really like it because I was introverted and there was a lot of interaction with the class. However, once I got used to the curriculum, I became more comfortable with being there. I think that wushu teaches people to be confident and speak for themselves. Not only do these classes help you with martial arts, but they also teach students important skills that they can use throughout their entire lives. I have taken their women’s self defense, tai chi and adult martial arts classes taught by Sifu Chang himself. These classes has taught me confidence, perseverance and above all keeps me in tip-top shape. My 3 children have been going there since they were 2 years old. The curriculum is solid and the staff are exceptional as well. If you put in the effort you will see results. I always knew that training Wushu was something I wanted to do in life, and am glad I found this school. Sifu David, Sifu Terry, Coach Tan, Coach Troy, Coach Larry, and Coach Mike all helped me out a lot along the way and still do.I feel like I can defend myself much better if I had to, but I also have the skills to perform lots of cool moves. I’m much more flexible and have seen more self-confidence also. When I have kids I’ll definitely enroll them as soon as they’re old enough.

But really though! 105 dollars per class? Thats overpriced! Its just one class! It would have been better if it was lower at least around 15 or 30 dollars would be nice!
