Comment: Dr Sandy is amazing! She has helped me understand and manage my scoliosis pain through whole body therapy starting with posture, learning how to correctly do the right exercises and focusing on breathing.I drive 1 1/2 hours to see her but she is worth it. I completed the 12 visit program but decided to continue seeing her every few months.I definitely recommend Dr Sandy!

Comment: Dr. Sandy is probably the best health care provider I have ever worked with. The part of my problem that could be helped, she helped. More importantly, she was able to work with me on acceptance and understanding with the things that were not going to change.

Comment: Dr. Sandy is an exceptional physical therapist in every way. She clearly understands the physiology of scoliosis and how it affects the entire skeletal system. I was suffering from chronic hip and shoulder pain as a result of scoliosis. After trying several chiropractors and personal trainers, I decided to seek her help. She was able to meticulously diagnose the problem and provide me with exercises and stretches to alleviate my pain. Her knowledge of therapeutic massage, stretching, and strength training all combined to create an amazing and lasting solution. I highly recommend her!!

Comment: I have pelvic floor issues since I am a child.Ten years ago, things were the worse and one urologist finally told me I need to do PT. I met two physical therapist and nothing worked. I had two babies and in 2019 I regained energy to look for the issue. I got a homeopath, I did diets and etc. Nothing worked! In 2020, I met with one PT in the Bay Area that told me part of my issues. Unfortunately to be pain free I was going there weekly if not biweekly. End of 2021, I moved an tried two of the most famous PT clinic for pelvic floor around Sacramento and it was the worse treatment I had it. So, I was driving 7 hours at least back and forth to find relieve. A friend of mine told me about Dr. Sandhy and I called her.Dr. Sandhy is the only PT I know that understand how the body works fully, if you back has issues, it can cause pain somewhere else. After two or three visits she understood my back issues and muscle separation that was causing my pelvic floor pain. She also treats the scar issue I have with a much more efficient approach. I was very depressed before meeting Dr. Sandhy because I understood, I could never live my life without going to Physical Therapist. However, Dr. Sandhy gave me relieve, the best treatment and hope. You cannot be impatient. Trust Dr. Sandhys process. She knows what she is doing and it does take work on your side. I highly recommend her and I cannot trust anyone else around here but Dr. Sandhy.

Comment: After 31 years of dealing with back and neck issues, I found someone who has helped. Years ago I was diagnosed, by MDs and chiropractors, with a pinched nerve, in back and left shoulder/neck area, as a result of both work and non work injuries. Kaiser gave me pills and chiropractors adjusted me. All of this provided temporary relief until 2022. After a small tweak to my left shoulder, I was left with two swollen hands that barely functioned, back, neck, and arm problems. Chiropractor didnt help, so I went into MD ( I am with WHA now). Got a new diagnosis, adhesive capsulitis, and limited rehab. After 8 weeks they were done. I was improved but not better. After some solo rehab I called Dr Sandy on my own and paid for it myself. With her help and my effort I am doing better.I wish I couldve received this kind of help when I was 27. Even though her advertisement describes her specialities, she can add another one: blue collar laborers who are weekend warriors. Thanks for your help Dr Sandy, I am able to do push ups again.

Comment: I came to see Dr. Sandy for pelvic floor training. I didnt have any expectations, but I was nervous as this is a very private and embarrassing issue I am going through. At our initial meeting, Dr. Sandy made me feel comfortable because she is very warm, professional and knowledgeable. Within a few months, my pelvic floor muscles were stronger and I have less episodes of wetness. Dr. Sandy is a wonderful PT, and I got to know her personally during my appts. She is also a cheerful and kind person/friend. I recommend you give her a call and try her out!

Comment: Having danced all my life from the age of 8, Ive always had a sense of confidence in my body and how it moves. However; following a back injury that effectively ended my dancing career I retrained to become a Pilates Instructor. Over the past 24 years I have learned to manage the pain and tight muscles but never actually felt as though I could nail down the root of the problem. I have seen many therapists and health professionals in different modalities along the way. Until now no one had been able to help me analyze and address my issues in a definitive way. Things were also getting more difficult with age and a busy schedule. Sandy is the therapist your want for hands on care and education that also includes a personalized home program tailored to your body. Sandy is a very focused, dedicated and caring professional who I would highly recommend to anyone who feels that the medical profession has no answers for them. She also happens to be caring, fun and interesting to spend time with! I will miss my sessions with her and who ever says that about therapy.

Comment: I was dealing with general pain and weakness after having scoliosis surgery, and Sandy helped me identify some issues that were worsening that pain. She helped correct my posture and my breathing, as well as worked with me to develop a routine of strengthening exercises. Sandy was very kind, gentle, and respectful and I looked forward to working with her. We did both hands-on therapy and exercise based therapy. I would highly recommend her!

Comment: Wow. I was not entirely hopeful I would have such great results with a physical therapist! I had been experiencing some lower back issues along with other radiant pain. Alli really knows how to listen and then creatively target the areas which were causing me the most problems. She not only provided immediate relief but then gave good techniques for not having the same problems in the future. Thank you Alli Mohamadi! You are compassionate and really listen to your patients!! I love her yoga background, too!!

Comment: I have a condition called Hypermobility, it was undiagnosed and untreated for over 20 years, which became very painful and limited my mobility. I was already diagnosed and in and out of treatmentfor a few years when I started with Dr. Sandy. I came to Resonance for the Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, and the previously slow healing process sped up significantly with Dr. Sandy. Im down to one or two muscle relaxers a year now and Im stronger and more active. Where five years ago, I sometimes needed help to walk and could injure my back while sitting, I can now travel, go camping, workout, and have just started paddleboarding. Before Dr. Sandy, leaving the house was scary, if I had a flare up, I risked being stranded on the side of the road with no way to drive, laying in the back of my car, waiting for the painkillers to kick in and my husband to pick me up, now I leave the house with confidence that my core and pelvic floor are so strong, those injuries arent possible anymore. If youre living with chronic pain, its absolutely worth giving Dr. Sandy a try.

Comment: I was diagnosed with endometriosis about 2 years ago and had debilitating symptoms since I was a teenager. I needed to find a PFPT that could meet my needs following an excision surgery, since I was still having painful symptoms even after my surgery. I first chose this facility because Dr. Sandy was the only physical therapist that I could find that specialized in pelvic floor and I did not want a male physical therapist due to the nature of my symptoms. Dr. sandy helped explain my ongoing symptoms and we discovered other factors that contributed to my symptoms (not just the endometriosis). She was able to answer every question I had, and since seeing Dr. sandy my symptoms have improved and the quality of some areas of my life have improved. Chronic pain takes a lot of work to undo. The symptoms haven’t completely gone away but I do believe that if I continue her program and follow her advice I will continue to see improvement. I felt like she paid attention to me as an individual and my individual needs rather than placing me into the endometriosis category and giving cookie cutter treatment. Definitely felt heard here. Thanks so much for your help Dr. Sandy!

Comment: My 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis 8 months ago. The curve became slightly worse after 6 months. The spine clinic recommended waiting and observing and they would brace if it got worse. We wanted to intervene before things got worse. We contacted Sandy after learning about the Schroth method. Sandy integrates the Schroth method and other orthopedic modalities. Sandy is an excellent clinician and thorough. She has a deep understanding of the mechanics of the spine and joints. My daughter gradually learned all the exercises and was confident doing them by the end of our 12 sessions. My daughter’s posture has improved and she has better awareness of her body . Sandy has been very patient with her and has a calm presence which alleviated her anxiety. I highly recommend Sandy for scoliosis treatment and we are happy we found her at the right time.Geetha

Comment: Dr. Sandy is truly amazing! She worked closely with my daughter who was diagnosed with Scoliosis in Aug. 22 by her Pediatrician. We did not feel supported with education and options at her initial time of diagnosis, leaving my husband and I with many unanswered questions and feeling very lost. It led us to research all things Scoliosis online. That can be a helpful resource, as well as a scary one! It led us to learning about SCHROTH therapy and I am so relieved we found Sandy, as she educated us on Scoliosis, what our daughters curves meant, and what we can do to help her stabilize or even minimize her curve degrees. Sandy is a very knowledgeable and dedicated physical therapist and a very compassionate person, which helped my very emotionally sensitive 13 yo daughter feel very comfortable with her. To find Sandy, who is not only a PT, but educated in the SCROTH Method, was such a relief. She had my daughter do strengthening exercises as well as corrective exercises aimed at her core and spine, so it is really a well-rounded system of therapy that has made positive changes in the way my daughter walks and carries herself, which in turn, support her spine. Seeing Sandy twice a week for several weeks in a row, the routine becomes so familiar and now that we are finished, we miss her! If you are a parent of a child with Scoliosis, please give Sandy a call. The whole journey can be scary, not only for the child, but the parents as well. My daughters curves not only stabilized, they decreased in degrees, keeping her out of the bracing range, when combined with her age and growing she has left. We continue to do the exercises and corrections that Sandy taught us everyday, and have another checkup with her doctor in August 23. Our hope is that our daughter continues to hold her curve from progressing. Thank you Sandy, from the bottom to the top of our hearts!

Comment: Dr. Sandy is the best physical therapist Ive ever had. Rather than treating the one area where I had pain, she took a whole body approach, looking at my entire alignment. She works hands on and gave me a detailed home exercise plan that Im confident I can implement on my own to help prevent further problems. She is also very kind and warm. I enjoyed talking with her at my appointments and she always answered all of my questions. I recommend her to anyone dealing with pain postpartum and for scoliosis treatment. After scoliosis treatment with her, I was one centimeter taller!

Comment: Before going to RPTW I was having a lot of lower back pain that it increased throughout the day. It prevent me to enjoy my time with my 1 year old daughter, carry her, or bath her. I was trying to do massages with a lacrosse ball and see if that could help me, but I was unsuccessful. When I started going to RPTW, I started to feel better right away with the exercises that I was told to do at home. The knowledge of Dr. Sandy helped her to know what exactly was wrong with my posture and my uneven back (that it was really slight to tell by anyone else). After several months after Dr. Sandy helped me, my back pain has not returned and I am able to do all my normal activities with my daughter and I was able to run the California International Marathon less than a month ago. My back pain has not come back, and now I know exercises that help me keep my back straight and strong.I strongly recommend Dr. Sandy with any physical problems you have and she will do a deep analysis and help you!

Comment: I can not thank Dr. Sandhya Dharmadas enough. After having 3 babies in 4 years I had a 4.5-5 finger diastasis recti. I felt weak and unable to do the active things I loved before having kids. After working with Dr. Sandhya Dharmadas I am back to all the things I love, like running, playing golf and I no longer have a 4.5-5 finger split. I feel strong again. Dr. Sandhya Dharmadas was wonderful to work with. She was very knowledgeable, professional and kind. She made me feel very comfortable with all aspects of pelvic floor PT. I believe that anyone who has given birth should see a pelvic floor physical therapist and I would recommend Dr. Sandhya Dharmadas to everyone!

Comment: Dr. Sandy is wonderful to work with, and my teen daughter is thriving in athletics after improving her scoliosis condition. Dr. Sandy knows all about the mechanics of the body, and also understands that healing is about more than mechanics; how a person thinks and feels is important too. She gives attention to the whole person in treatment sessions, and that makes a big difference!

Comment: This post is LONG overdue, sorry Sandy!! I have to say when I started having pelvic floor issues, finding a good PT was almost near impossible until I found Sandy!! I felt so supported by her extensive knowledge and helping me change so many bad habits we as women learn over the years. I have intersistial cystitis and tight pelvic floor and learning how to relax was hard for me. This is a very multidisciplinary approach as I used many therapies to finally be healed. Sandy was such a great help for me, all the sobbing I did, and how she was so positive. Thank you Sandy for helping me get back on my way to healing:)Sandy is worth every penny!!

Comment: In 2011 I started having back pain in the middle of my back. At one point, I was carrying laundry upstairs and I felt something in my stomach rip. I though it was odd, but didnt really consider its impact on my back until much later. By 2013 the pain was so unbearable that I thought I wouldnt be able to sit for an entire flight from Sacramento to New Mexico. I went to see a chiropractor. He treated me about six times and then decided he needed to see xrays. So he sent me to his doctor since I didnt have a doctor. She became my primary care doctor and had xrays and MRIs taken. There was some anomaly at the base of my spine and a disc protrusion between T10 & T11. (Neither of these places were where I was having pain.) She sent me to a pain clinic for an SI injection. That did nothing. She then gave me trigger point injections in the places where I was having pain. That didnt help either. She sent me to the Northern California Spine & Rehabilitation center. They were worthless. She then sent me to Body Concepts physical therapy.I went to Body Concepts for six sessions. The therapist tried many, many things. But nothing helped. A friend had recommended MFR (Myofascial Release). The MFR therapist I saw for six years, which provided temporary relief. She did note that my vertebrae at T6 was twisted one direction while the vertebrae at T8 was twisted the opposite direction.Early on my doctor had wondered whether I had scoliosis. So, given the observation of the MFR therapist, I went back to the doctor to ask for a scoliosis scan. The result said there was levoconvex curvature of the mid to lower thoracic spine, measuring 9 degrees, and dextroconvex curvature upper lumbar spine measuring 13 degrees. So not drastic curvature. But I had been doing various core exercises and felt that I probably should check with someone about those given the scoliosis diagnosis.I Googled and found Dr. Sandy in Folsom. I saw her initially for six or eight appointments and she was able to give me some exercises that alleviated the pain. At one point, she performed some MFR that caused the pain to disappear entirely for about four hours. Unfortunately, the pain returned. In one of her first examinations, she found that I had an oblique tear on my left side. This explained the rip I felt in my stomach so many years prior. And no one else, including my doctor, had ever found that.In the middle of the sessions I was having with Dr. Sandy, I was having right shoulder pain too, so I had an MRI and that showed a superior labral tear. So Dr. Sandy also worked on that area. But I had to have surgery to repair the tear. I saw her again after the shoulder surgery and that, along with the prior work shed done, helped to speed the recovery from surgery. After the first set of appointments, I didnt see Dr. Sandy again until I started having pain in my left shoulder that felt like the pain Id had in my right shoulder, which was the following year. She was convinced that the shoulder pain was due to the rotation in my spine. She worked on my left shoulder but also worked to figure out the rotation which was occurring not only in my upper thoracic spine but in my lower spine as well. She gave me several exercises that I could do myself to push my upper spine back into place, such that the debilitating pain calms down considerably. I can do this whenever it starts hurting and it allows me to continue to do activities without hurting constantly. For this, I am eternally grateful. She has been able to help me when I had almost lost hope of being helped. So many practitioners just want to take the quickest approach to getting you out of their office. Dr. Sandy spent many hours trying to find the root cause and address that. As a result, I can alleviate my back pain myself, my left shoulder no longer hurts, and with her help, Ive avoided surgery for that one.If youre in pain, you should start with Dr. Sandy instead of doing like I did, wading through ineffective procedures and practitioners for years.

Comment: My 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with a severe S-curve in November of 2021. She had a large rib protrusion that was quite noticeable and her shoulders were very uneven as was her waist indentation (none and one side and very inward on the other). As soon as my daughter was diagnosed, I began researching the rabbit hole of how can I help my daughter. She had pain when she walked and sat every single day. My daughter was two plus years out from starting her period, so we were worried bracing and Scroth might not help. This crushed me as a mom. I felt like I had failed my child.By a stroke of luck, someone I met on a Facebook Scoliosis group referred us to Sandy at Resonance, and thats when things started to get better! It took about 5 weeks to get in, but then Kaena did 90 minute SCROTH therapy appointments 3 times daily and also at home on the days she didnt see Sandy. My daughter practiced hard, and we hoped that at her 5 month X-ray, we would not see an increase in her curve (her original curve was 47 on bottom and 35 on top.At the 5 month xray (my daughter wore a Cheneau Rego brace provided by Align Clinic the whole 5 months), my daughter and I were so nervous for the results. We really wanted to avoid surgery if possible. The results were nothing short of amazing - the top curve went from a 35 to a 33 and her BIG curve of 47 decreased to a 37 - a 30% reduction in 5 months. My daughter and I cried so many happy tears that day. I emailed Sandy to tell her the results before I told any of my family or friends because Sandy had been so strong and encouraging on the journey. I honestly feel like there are very few people in life that are gifts to the world and can heal people, but Sandy has a gift. Her demeanor is warm and loving toward the kids, and even made my very shy 13 year old feel so comfortable that she looked forward to seeing Sandy! She gave me courage when I felt defeated and discouraged, and kept us focused on the light at the end of the tunnel.Kaenas back pain has completely gone away. Her shoulders are almost 100% level and her waist is completely normal. Her rib rotation is so greatly decreased that I never even notice it. I know Sandys classes are not cheap, but when you consider you are getting 90 minutes hands on training that will teach you and your child how to help her spine, I think its well worth it. I would pay anything - Sandy is that good. Im beyond grateful to have found Sandy.

Comment: My daughter’s scoliosis diagnosis felt very daunting. She went through some grieving and anger, then just wondering what, if anything, we can do about it besides bracing. Before seeing Dr. Dharmadas, we didn’t know what to expect. I’d researched scoliosis PT and she came very well recommended. Dr. D. was very responsive to Joy’s physical needs and special circumstances (all bodies are different) and gave her tools (physical and mental) to work with to improve awareness and posture, which she continues to this day. Joy’s confidence improved, knowing that she has control over some aspects of this, which had left her feeling hopeless before. Dr. D. brings a wealth of knowledge about scoliosis, anatomy and physical health, but she also shows great empathy with her clients. She was literally down on the floor doing exercises with my daughter, showing her exactly what to do and how to determine the feeling of whether she was doing it correctly. This personal connection was very welcome and increased my daughter’s success. If you’re thinking about seeing Dr. D., go for it! She will help you work through whatever you are struggling with and she’ll break it down into pieces that don’t feel insurmountable. Thank you for your help, Dr. Dharmadas!!

Comment: I am so thankful for Sandy and I seriously cant say enough good things! I went to her at about 36 weeks pregnant for a back issue and also just for some preventative care/to learn more about my pelvic floor/prep for labor, birth and postpartum. She figured out exactly what was going on with my back and was able to help take away that pain. She also gave me information about my pelvic floor and birthing positions that are best for me. Her treatment was so individual which felt so nice knowing it was what worked best for me! She took time to understand and listen to what I was looking for and wanted out of PT. She knows what shes doing and am so happy I found her. I would 100% recommend her to anyone!

Comment: My daughter’s diagnosis of scoliosis at 8 years old was crushing. She was near 40 degrees of curvature and her specialist told us that she would inevitably need surgery, likely multiple of them. Being a nurse, I researched hours and hours into everything scoliosis and joined every parent support group I could find. She started bracing and I looked into Schroth therapy as recommended by so many parents, while keeping Dr. Sandy’s name in my back pocket as the very best therapist until the time came when my daughter reached the age and level of maturity to begin Schroth. I was hesitant about Schroth as our specialist wasn’t hugely sold on it, yet I couldn’t help but try everything possible to avoid surgery for my daughter.Dr. Sandy came as our orthotist’s absolute number one recommendation. I can definitely see why. We live out of state, so Dr. Sandy offered an intensive set of 12 Schroth therapy sessions which we did over a summer break. She created a series of exercises and therapies specific to Kyla’s curve and other areas of her body which were contributing to her scoliosis. She took so much time and attention ensuring that Kyla was capable and ready to perform these exercises at home. She offered encouragement and praise and also recognized when Kyla was tired and losing focus finding other fun activities and small breaks to keep her on track. She helped my husband and I create a schedule collecting instructions/notes, photos and videos of Kyla demonstrating her exercises for reference at home. Dr. Sandy was so kindly generous as to consider that our appointments often fell after hours of driving and staying in hotels. She set up shop for my son in the office, made snack breaks, and even helped arrange for our furry family member during a time when we had no choice but to bring our dog.Dr. Sandy strives for perfection and her therapy skills are top notch. Our sessions weren’t just about my daughter but also about our confidence in helping her and ensuring she was doing her therapy correctly. My husband and I both learned a tremendous amount. My daughter’s strength and confidence is growing, and I can see all her hard work making amazing changes. Dr. Sandy has an obvious love for children and passion for overall health and wellness. I would not trust my daughter with anyone else, and we plan on seeing her for the long term, even mountains away. If you are looking for a conservative and effective Schroth therapist who is patient, loving and encouraging, Dr Sandy absolutely cannot be beat!

Comment: I cant say enough good things about Dr. Sandy. She helped me identify and treat my back/body ache that triggered because of my incorrect posture while working. At one point my back was so bad, I was barely able to walk. But after seeing Dr. Sandy, I felt tremendous improvement. She helped to correct not only my back ache, but went above and beyond to help me identify other posture problems that I was having and correct that as well. In less than 3 sessions I started to feel marked improvement. She pays attention to the smallest detail and helped me work though those minor details that I myself would otherwise never observe.Shout out also to the safety measures that she takes because of the pandemic. Her office/clinic is extremely clean and sanitary, I was the only person in her office for the duration of my appointment and we were masked at all times. From my experience I highly recommended Resonance physical therapy.

Comment: Let me tell you by starting that Sandy is God sent. My daughter and son both got diagnosed with scoliosis and my son also with kyphosis. I started researching what I could do to help them not to progress if at all possible and also do a preventative exercises to help them build up strength. I started my research to what is a best exercises for something like this and came across Shroth therapy. From everything I read and researched this was the way and also I found out that there was a data base to find the best Physical therapist who specializes in Shroth and who also has the proper licensing for it. I came across many but Sandy caught my attention. As she had all the things I was looking for also great reviews. I called her and over the phone she made me feel so comfortable in her abilities and the knowledge she has about scoliosis and the therapy my kids needed. Our first appt. went wonderful. My daughter started first and we both loved what she was able to to do for her and she didnt just concentrate on just the scoliosis but the over all the health of the body which matters so much when you are treating someone. My son shortly after started with her too. Let me assure you that if you are searching for someone, she is it ( and Im very picky as to who treats my kids for their medical issues). She is so kind, compassionate, loving with my kids that they love going to her. Their scoliosis improved, their mobility improved and they are in a better shape then when we started. She has gone above and beyond to help our family. We love her and couldnt be happier that we found her.

Comment: I delivered my son September of 2020 and was not fully aware of changes my body went through that were still affecting me months later. When running postpartum I discovered discomfort in my pelvic floor area. Instead of sucking it up and trying to convince myself it was nothing, a quick search online lead me to Sandy at Resonance Physical Therapy. I am so glad I reached out! Sandy was able to teach me many helpful things around posture (breastfeeding can easily destroy it), contractions, and core strength. With Sandy’s teaching, I’m now able to run without my previous issues and I’m continually working on my poor posture and back tightness. If you are looking for a specialist who is kind, easy to interact with, able to explain things well to lay people, and provides a safe and comfortable environment - a give Sandy a call!

Comment: I am so glad I found Dr. Sandy to help me through my postpartum journey. After a difficult birth, I knew I needed to seek additional care for my pelvic floor. I struggled for the first 3 months postpartum not understanding what had happened to my body. My OB was great throughout my pregnancy journey, but after the birth, I felt I wasnt getting the care I needed for the issues I was experiencing. My first interaction with Dr. Sandy was on the phone after I had left an inquiry message on her office line. Not only did she call me back within a day, but she talked with me on the phone for almost an hour to understand my issues prior to even booking the first appointment. Never having been to physical therapy, let alone for such a private area on my body, I was nervous for my first appointment. Dr. Sandy immediately made me feel comfortable and was extremely thorough in her discussions with me. She is so warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to. I ended up doing 10 sessions, and each one she went over her allotted time to make sure I was prepared with the correct exercises and information prior to leaving. I never felt rushed out of the office, unlike I do every time I see a regular doctor! Having just finished my last session, I am so happy with how far Ive come. Not only is my pelvic floor stronger and feeling mostly back to normal, but I also received invaluable nutrition support to help me with some GI problems I was also experiencing. I would recommend Dr. Sandy to any Mom, whether you are newly postpartum or had a baby 10 years ago. She has been so helpful throughout this difficult period in my life, and Im so thankful that I made the decision to go to her practice!

Comment: Prior to visiting Resonance Physical Therapy, I had sought help for scoliosis from various chiropractors and physical therapist for over 24 years. Sandy has proved to be the most knowledgeable and caring out of all whom I have known. Her personalized care helped me learn better how my body works, how to use it, care for it, and strengthen it. I graduated physical therapy two centimeters taller, with a helpful exercise plan, and growing strength for my daily tasks. I think Sandy’s one-to-one care paired with her knowledge, skill, and personalized application is what makes her practice excellent. If you need physical therapy and are committed to doing the work necessary to improve your situation, I highly recommend Resonance Physical Therapy.

Comment: I had my C5/6 disks replaced in September and I had lingering pain that wouldn’t go away, so I started going to Sandy. I was nervous before going because I’ve tried everything to try to get rid of the pain, and PT hasn’t always helped. Before my first appointment Sandy called me to walk through everything we would be doing and instantly made me feel comfortable. Sandy is one of the kindest people and listened carefully to all of my concerns. Each step of the way she checked in the see what worked and what didn’t, and knew what type of adjustments to make when things didn’t work. Each workout and stretch we narrowed down helped me feel more confident, and relive the pain. I’m 27 and I’m too young to have this much pain constantly. I’m so grateful I went to her, because I’m feeling much stronger and healthier after going to her for 11 weeks. I always recommend Sandy to anyone I know. She wants the best for all of her clients, and makes sure her clients are doing the work with her and on their own. She often felt like a therapist and a PT, because she listened to me and gave me great advice on life! She will continue to be in my life as a friend! ❤️ Thank you so much Sandy!

Comment: I went to see Sandy for hip pain in December 2020. This was during the pandemic so what would have been normally just about treating my hip also required her to take precautions per the CDC guidelines. She made sure these were followed strictly including hand washing, etc. What I found exceptional was her approach to the diagnosis which was very thorough and methodical. Once she figured out what the reason was for my hip pain, she put in place exercises for me to follow. She is very knowledgeable and holistic in her approach and she loves what she does. She listens to you carefully about what is causing the pain and then tries to figure out what the issue is. She is extremely sweet and kind. I would whole heartedly recommend anyone that need physical therapy.

Comment: My daughters post-op scoliosis surgery left her spine straight, but tilting to the side from the hip. It was with great dismay that I realized our scoliosis journey was not done. It turns out that there are very few qualified Schroth therapists in CA qualified to work with post-op scoliosis patience. For once, luck was on my side, and I was able to locate Sandy in the Sacramento area.In just three months, Sandy was able to guide my daughter through a therapy regime that dramatically improved her posture and physical appearance. Sandys passion for her work shows. Its refreshing how she brings her scientific, medical, and holistic skills to address the total person. She never loses sight of her clients abilities and emotional state. Patience, encouragement, and understanding are all part of what you receive in her care. And did I mention the education that she imparts along the way? Our care ended with a greater understanding of how my daughters body responds to the exercises and what a lifetime commitment can do for her health and appearance. I feel very qualified to recommend Sandy for your physical therapy needs. She is quite simply THE BEST.

Comment: Sandy was fantastic in her personal approach and handling my concerns and issues with such care. She gave me insight into some post partum related issues that I was having (even though my kids are 7 and 10!) and great long term approaches that I can implement for future improvement and success.I am a sub-elite runner with big goals especially in the marathon, and had never once been diagnosed with Diastasis Recti, which has contributed to some pelvic floor issues and leakage while running, even though Ive previously been to PT and also a urology gynecologist. Sandy was thorough in her exam, and realistic with what the mind and body might be able to achieve with sustained practice. I feel confident now that I have the tools to work toward improvement, even as I age.

Comment: Before meeting Sandy I felt very much in the dark about my scoliosis, passed in between multiple doctors and surgeons with varying opinions… I was worried that I too would one day need surgery or become a fragment of the active person that I am now.Sandy was willing to slow down and look at me holistically. She took everything into consideration when developing a plan of care for me: my lifestyle, my goals, my history, and my character. She helped me to see that I was better off than I thought. With some work and dedication, my body could continue to do all of the things that I wanted it to do and live a long healthy life.

Sandy is great with kids. Shes playful and fun, and good at getting them motivated. I enjoyed every minute of my daughters PT and it was really worth driving from Chico to get treatment. I highly recommend Sandy to anyone who needs help with scoliosis. Shes very knowledgeable, experienced, and friendly.

Comment: My slowly progressing scoliosis has caused aches and pains during my life. I’m retired and want to maintain good balance, enjoy daily walks, travel, and time with my grandchildren. A friend found Resonance Wellness Therapy online and recommended I try it due to Dr Sandy’s experience with scoliosis patients. I have had numerous physical therapists, tried acupuncture and chiropractic.Dr. Sandy asked what I wanted to achieve with physical therapy and took time to analyze how my body is functioning. After 2 months of the exercises she recommended, my back pain has significantly decreased, I’m able to walk more comfortably and for a longer distance, and my balance has improved. I appreciate her thorough explanations and how she fine tunes the exercises for my situation. I highly recommend her. She follows covid protocols in her office.

Comment: Sandy is an extremely knowledgeable therapist and did a great job of engaging our daughter. She was very skilled at combining multiple methods of therapy to assess and treat my daughters scoliosis and explained everything for both myself and my daughter to understand. She developed a great home program that was specific for her curvature but also one that was reasonable for a teenager to realistically complete daily. Her compassion and concern is evident in her attention to detail as well as her communication style. The improvements my daughter made over only 4 weeks of intensive therapy were impressive and Sandy has instilled a sense of purpose and responsibility in her to continue independently. Being a therapist myself, I can appreciate her knowledge and dedication. THANK YOU, SANDY!

Comment: When my daughter was 15 years old, she underwent spine surgery to correct her scoliosis. Unfortunately, the surgery left her in more pain and, as a result, she was unable to attend school or participate in many ordinary daily activities. Although we tried many therapies, none were giving her any real, lasting relief from pain.My daughter’s life finally began to improve a year and a half after her spine surgery when we found Sandy at Resonance Therapy. Previous physical therapist did their best to help her but they seemed to be using a set “post surgery protocol” that wasn’t responding in a tailored way to the specific needs of my daughter’s unique body mechanics. Sandy, on the other hand, gave her targeted exercises based on what her muscles were actually doing. Unlike any other provider, the exercises prescribed by Sandy included some that retrained the mind body connection, helping my daughter’s pain response return to normal. As a result of the care she has received from Sandy, her muscles are stronger and more balanced and she has gained tremendous knowledge about how to properly maintain a pain free body.Sandy is that rare practitioner that has a real passion for lifelong learning. She brought her understanding of many treatment therapies to play in order to maximize my daughter’s healing. Thanks to Sandy, my daughter has gone from having daily, often debilitating pain to being able to live the happy active life of a typical 17 year old! We are deeply grateful to Sandy for her life changing care!

Comment: Before I came to Sandy, I had been going to the physical therapist my insurance referred me to and was frustrated after 3 visits with how little time the therapist spent with me, 10-15 minutes, and how little progress I was feeling. The majority of the hour I spent at the office was doing exercises on my own. I wanted a therapist that was going to help me reach my short and long term goals post surgery, and someone that would look at my overall body functioning to help me get there. The first appointment with Sandy was the assessment. I saw more improvement in that first visit than I experienced after 3 weeks with the other physical therapist. My range of motion improved and she gave me clear directions on where I should focus. She even helped me identify the best shoes to wear during and post-recovery! Over the course of my visits with her, I not only saw continued improvement in my ankle’s range of motion, I learned about the other areas of my body that needed attention in order to continue to improve range of motion. I had been walking with a limp for so many years and Sandy taught how to walk normally and in a way that supports my whole body. Throughout each visit, Sandy spent the entire hour working with me and customized each visit to what I needed that day. She gave me exercises to do at home and took her time to explain to me, to show me, and we even video taped them on my phone so I had something to refer back to later. Through the course of my time with Sandy, I gained more mobility, a deeper understanding of how the body functions and works together, and I now have more confidence to continue my path to recovery. From the very start, I felt comfortable with Sandy. She is a very positive and encouraging person with a wealth of knowledge. She is patient, kind, caring, a fantastic listener, and also very funny. I’m so glad I did some research and switched over to her care. I know if I had stayed with the other therapist, I wouldn’t have the level of confidence, movement and growth that I experienced with Sandy.Whether you are in recovery post-surgery like I was, or have chronic pain from arthritis or an old injury, or just feeling off in your body and need a tune-up, I highly recommend making an appointment with Sandy. You will be so grateful that you did!

Comment: We found Sandy as we were looking for Schroth method PT for my teenage daughter who was first diagnosed with scoliosis in grade school. I am so glad we found her- she is not your typical physical therapist!! She is so much more!! Sandy not only taught her Schroth method to help her scoliosis, but has helped her walking, posture, and functional movement principles for real life daily living. She even has given her tips about learning styles and sets a foundation for behavior and attitude aspects of life. You can tell she is knowledgeable, passionate, and loves to work with people and kids. She connects with you personally and really cares about her patients. After about 2 months of sessions, my daughters’ thoracic rotation has improved about 5 degrees and the lumbar about 2 degrees!

Comment: My son has been dealing with scoliosis since he was 12 years old, and he is now 19. He did bracing and some other PT that was not effective, his curve had progressed and his surgeon was considering surgery. I found Sandy after looking for a better approach. All I can say is “WOW!” My son’s results have been truly amazing. His posture has dramatically improved, his balance and symmetry look totally normal. His right hip, which would swing out with every step, is now nearly resolved. Sandy worked with my son over the course of approximately 1 month with 2 hour sessions three times a week. He now does his morning therapy every day and is continuing to improve. The most important thing however, has been his improved outlook on life. He was very anxious and depressed, but is now his old self. Along with the physical aspect of therapy, Sandy taught my son breathing and relaxation techniques that have calmed his anxiety and given him a much more positive outlook on his health and mental well being.I highly recommend Sandy for scoliosis therapy. She has been worth every penny. I cannot thank Sandy enough for all that she has done for my son.

Comment: I went to Dr. Sandy for physical therapy due to back pain resulting from longstanding scoliosis. Check out her qualifications! She is a highly educated physical therapist. Only 4% of physical therapists in our nation go on to complete a Residency after getting their P.T. degree, she not only went on to get her Residency, she completed a Fellowship AND her Doctorate too. She taught the orthopedic curriculum at CSUS and while working in Southern California she was the PT consultant for the LA Kings hockey team. She knows her specialty. Before she even started developing a program for me, she did a whole body assessment using quantifiable measurements looking at my flexibility and range of motion before and after the completion of my program so we could quantify my improvement. She identified where I was weak and where I was strong, explained to me the whys behind the exercises I was to do, provided me with exercises to do at home immediately and encouraged me along the way. She knows the anatomy of the body and what exercises it takes, specific to you, to reach your best function. My sessions were focused on giving me at-home exercises to strengthen my back as well as to create flexibility in all my joints, which allowed me to focus on the health of my whole body. Using videos and pictures of me doing the exercises and then allowing me to explain the exercises, while I repeated them to her, helped reinforce the correct way to do these exercises while at home. Being a nurse practitioner, myself, I recognize the importance of teaching people self-autonomy. Dr. Sandy empowers you to take back your health. I am now pain-free after six weeks and am confident I will remain so as long as I continue the exercises at home. I have only great things to say about the treatment I received from Dr. Sandy and I am excited about the changes I have seen in me!

Comment: Im in my 60s and have had years of chronic muscle strain from scoliosis. There has been more rapid progression of the curve with a significant rotation of the ribcage the last few years. Ive just completed the 10-day (2 hrs per day) intensive scoliosis rehab offered by Sandy at Resonance Physical Therapy and Wellness. I was able to spread it out over 3 weeks to accommodate my work schedule. After the first day I had immediate and lasting pain relief. The treatment went above and beyond the limited strengthen the core protocols Ive previously encountered in physical therapy. Sandys comprehensive and individualized approach started with a thorough assessment, including an eval of x-rays, related labs, and my medical history. She spent time listening to my concerns. She used care and wise judgment in adapting the therapy to the degenerative changes of my spine, osteoporosis, and knee pain from a previously fractured kneecap. For many years Ive had back pain with usual daily activities. I saw several physical therapists and chiropractors, and tried various braces. Id been told by some practitioners that I would always have this muscle strain and that PT exercises cannot be adapted to my specific spinal curve. Sandy used advanced therapy techniques which were adapted to my specific scoliosis curve pattern, such as Schroth and the SEAS approach. Schroth certified practitioners are few and far between in California, so this was a rare find for me.Spinal surgeons Ive seen did not advise surgery due to my osteoporosis and internal organ shifting. Sandys professional expertise helped me with a collapsing wheezy lung, a dislodged diaphragm, fascia issues, skin problems, painful scarring from a past cancer surgery, and discouragement from various ineffective attempts for relief over the years. Im now experiencing increased flexibility, increasing lung capacity, muscle strengthening, improved posture, and pain relief. I now have a plan to manage this chronic condition and prevent disability. This was the most complete and effective treatment Ive ever had for my scoliosis.

Comment: I was suffering from acute lower back pain. It all began a year ago when I started having tinkling sensations in my lower back to feet. My health care provider initially diagnosed it to be vitamin B12 deficiency and I was on tablets. 6 months even after having the tablets, the issue aggravated to lower back pain. Then I was asked to consume another medicine. The medicine ensured a low energy life and I couldnt bear it anymore. No respite from back pain too. Almost for a year my medical provider was not able to find the root cause of the problem and was treating the effects. I was looking for other options. One of my friends recommended me to Resonance Physical Therapy & Wellness. I thought I should give it a shot.On the first visit Dr Sandhya spent an hour understanding the nature my pain. She diagnosed the exact root cause of the problem which was resulting in nerve pinching which resulted in radiating pain till the bottom of the foot. From that moment I had gathered confidence in her. This was the answer I was looking for from a doctor(ROOT CAUSE not the EFFECT). She told me its going to take a few sittings to fix the issue. I decided to continue with her although I knew it was going to cost me a lot of money out of my pocket. I also decided to stop other medicines, since this was anyway not helping me and I was not having good mood all day.It took around 8 sittings. But with every visit the pain was diminishing.I was asked to do some stretches/yoga poses as homework and I religiously did it. She answered every question I had. Her knowledge and experience in this area amazed me.When it all ended it was like magic. I couldnt imagine curing any suffering without pills. Now, that theory is disproved! From my experience I strongly recommended Resonance physical therapy.

Comment: Sandy has been working with my 12 year old daughter for just under a month. I initially sought out Sandy because she was a physical therapist trained in Schroth therapy that I hoped could help my daughter with her scoliosis. Sandy has turned out to be that and more! She has brought to her sessions with my daughter a holistic view that includes not only Schroth therapy, but a breadth of complementary approaches that she has learned through her experience and dedication as a physical therapist. Dealing with scoliosis when you are 12 is scary and tough. Sandy has been warm and compassionate with my daughter. She pushes her hard but knows when to give her breaks. She knows how to break down the exercises in a way that my daughter can understand. In just a few weeks my daughter has shown remarkable progress in awareness of how to position and correct her posture. Her flexibility and breathing have improved. My daughter and I have left every session with Sandy feeling empowered and optimistic. I highly recommend Sandy as a physical therapist for scoliosis and am thankful to have her on our treatment team.

Comment: When my daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis this past summer, I was told by the doctor to simply monitor the curve for the next 6 months. I decided not to wait and did more research on my own. I found out that it was best to get her into physical therapy (PT), specifically the Schroth Method. We had gone to Kaiser’s PT and they spent about 15 minutes on my daughter. The Kaiser PT was not familiar with Schroth, so she only had one exercise to give her. I didn’t feel that it was useful. I did more research on the Schroth Method and heard some great things about it. Fortunately, I found Sandy on the Barcelona Schroth directory and called her. In our first session, Sandy spent over 1 hour taking all kinds of measurements and looking at my daughter’s x-rays. Sandy was extremely thorough. She said that my daughter should do 10 consecutive sessions, 2 hours each session. She started teaching her how to breathe and then eased her into the intensive PT. She was very hands-on, and very patient. Basically, our 2 hours each night was very intense and worth every penny. She made sure that my daughter was doing the exercises correctly before she felt comfortable having her do it at home. I watched and learned as well so that I would be able to help my daughter when she does the exercises at home. Sandy even went with us to San Mateo to get a special brace that works with Schroth PT. She has been so helpful and a guiding light on our journey. I would definitely recommend Sandy for patients who are looking for REAL PT.

Comment: This is along over due review. I found Sandy back in 2019. I had pain all over my body due to scoliosis. As I work with Sandy to over come the pain and learn how to work with my body and not against it. With the Schroth Method . I over came all of my pain. She was very Detailed and had all the answers and information that I need. As time has gone by I did have some pain Flareup . She still had all of the answers to help me work through that too. I have since moved out of state and have found a new P. T. When I do travel back to the state I will always go see her if I have any questions or concerns. She still will have the answers to help me out . I will always check with her when I fell like my new P. T. Feels off and love that I can always check with her. So I know that I’m getting the right care. I miss not being so close to and her skills as friend and P. T. She is the best !!!
