Comment: There truly isn’t anyone in the beauty industry like Martha. She did my bridal hair and makeup perfectly and it was exactly how I always envisioned myself looking! I loved working with her, her personality is so warm and inviting and I truly felt comfortable with her through every step of the process. I knew from our first makeup trial that I would be able to trust in her and was confident that I had picked the perfect person to do my hair/makeup! Whenever I had questions or concerns she always responded in a timely matter and gave clarification on anything I was confused about. She is very organized and always keeps all her products sanitized, which was important to me because I have sensitive/acne prone skin. Her techniques were flawless and my makeup has never looked better! Martha really took the time to ask questions, listen, and ask me for feedback so she knew exactly what I wanted and made sure I was happy! I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup from family, friends, and total strangers! And my hair and makeup stayed all day/night. She is a thorough communicator and very clear with her rules and regulations for her appointments, there are no surprises & if you have questions she answers them promptly and kindly. For our appointment, I showed her an inspo picture and she gave me EXACTLY what I wanted with the colors & the eyeshadow style I picked was “full glam” and it came out absolutely perfect!! My makeup stayed flawless for literally over 8+ hours of dancing, food, drinks flowing, pictures, etc. That night I got so so many compliments from a ton of people, I felt like a true real life princess! Her communication was extremely clear and I never felt confused about anything (how to prep myself, my extensions, when/where appts are etc.). Comment: Martha did such an AMAZING job with my makeup and hair for my wedding. She is extremely detail-oriented, and it is such a plus that she can do both makeup and hair. My makeup and hair maintained for the entire wedding (minus minuscule things, such as an eyelash coming a bit undone and some creasing around the smile area). I had glue and was able to touch up my creasing, so it wasnt the end of the world. I commonly have an issue with eyeliner smudging, and that was not an issue at all. Every detail I mentioned on common makeup issues I notice for myself, she made sure to address. She also helped show my bridemaids how to add my veil, and left some bobby pins to help secure it in. Her professionalism, and her confidence in application and execution is very comforting and puts a bride to ease on her wedding day. Would 100% recommend, and would definitely work with her again.

A total pro and a pleasure to work with, Martha strikes a great balance between hearing her clients’ requests and offering suggestions based on her experience and product knowledge. There are a lot things worth calling out about her work, but I especially liked her ability to do a full beat that is wearable and takes the client’s skin type and other factors into consideration. Martha is extremely skillful and hygienic in her make up artistry and made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day! I loved my wedding day hair and felt so classy and glam in my loose Hollywood waves. Her ability to also incorporate my hair extensions for volume was seamless and we couldn’t tell the different between the extensions and my hair. I was very hesitate at first to book beauty innovations for my big day because I felt the pricing was a bit too much. I had received very good recommendations and reviews on them but I decided to shop around and explore my options. I booked a few makeup trials, taking into consideration I usually do not get my hair & makeup done since I do it myself. For my engagement photos I decided to book with another artist who I really liked. However, once I received my pictures I immediately regretted my decision. The saying is so true you get what you pay for. I termed my contract I had with that artist and contacted beauty innovations and luckily my event date was still available! I did my bride trial and instantly Martha knew what look I was looking for. My bride trial consisted of a conversation for me to explain my type of skin, look, and hair style I was interested in achieving. The artist took her time and advice me of recommendations needed to fulfill my bride look I was looking for. Prior to her even starting, she educated me on different things that would look good on my skin for my photo shoot that day. She also told me how she needed to add a lot of make up and not to be scared because it is a photo shoot (I’m not a heavy make up person) so walking out I was a bit scared however, my pictures came it sooo amazing and she was right, the make up did pop out as good as she explained.. she listened to what I wanted and she did not make the 2 hours with her awkward at all!I would 100% go back to get for another important event and I will def go back to her to take her make up course !Thank you!

Im obsessed with makeup and Marthas knowledge of product, skin type, and sanitation really put me at ease. I took the class in her studio and there was plenty of parking and easy to find. The best part about her studio is its bright, airy, and very clean. Prior to arriving, she contacted me the day before to confirm our appointment and she ensured our appointment was prompt and started right on time. She took care to wear a mask and shield the entire time. When I arrived she took care to have already prepared pre-sanitized and sealed cosmetic brushes, etc. and prepped for me. I could clearly see that nothing had been opened or used prior to my arriving. I cant begin to express how confident and beautiful I feel knowing how to better do my makeup after Marthas instruction. Comment: I do not recommend her at all. She is really inconsiderate and unapologetic. She seems to think only her time is of value and has strict tardy rules when it comes to it. However, when it is the other way around she does not have any common courtesy. She will start your appointment very late. She will rush all the way through to try and accommodate the person after you. She will make you late to your event if it is time sensitive and will go way past the discussed time frame. She will as a result make appointments after you late as well.She rushes a lot. She drops things, moves very quickly and is pretty rough. She also used the wrong type of foundation on me because I told her I had used it before and even though I said to use whatever she thought was best... she took the easy way out and as a result it didnt look good...She was aware of my skin concerns and desire to focus on skin.To be honest, I also felt a little grossed out as well. She said she was going to quickly rinse the beauty blender she used on the person before me for me... idk what she meant by rinse but I did not feel comfortable with it and she didnt end up doing it anyways.She is very unapologetic. She didnt think to apologize for making me late and nor did she even acknowledge her mistakes when I talked to her about it and tried to settle things. Shes more of those I am sorry you feel that way people vs. I am sorry for making you feel that way. Definitely not a good attitude for someone offering services.Would not offer advice, suggestions even when I understood she might have forgotten my makeup. She did not even want to suggest products she could have used on me. Wanted me to take a whole other class with her just to know a few products she used on me.BOTTOM LINE: The Bay Area has a ton of other makeup artists. Comment: I have been on both ends with Martha, as a client for hair, and a student for makeup! I LOVE her! 1st of all, as far as hair, I am so glad she did it. I dont have curly hair, or straight, just frizzy! I had gotten hollywood waves by her and they were perfect! NO FRIZZ! and i say this with great emphasis because I had my hair done by someone else for my birthday because Martha was fully booked and I literally waited until the week before to book :( and the girl who did it left it SUPER puffy! I wanted to cry! I rather have an ugly hairstyle than to have it be puffy! It wasnt even fixable with all the teasing involved! SO, with that said, if Martha is ever not available, Ill just do my own hair- She is the only one I know I am getting my moneys worth and MORE! As far as a makeup instructor- again, amazing!!!! I had already heard wonderful things about her prior to my trial, so I was already excited to work with her. My trial was fantastic, she listened to everything I wanted and feared (Im super oily, I cry over everything, etc.). She really made me feel at ease and I felt confident with working with her. She is very responsive and respectful when it comes to email communications. On the day of my wedding (June 29, 2019), she and her assistant (shout out to Pearl whos amazing too) were at my hotel room on time and worked wonderfully with each of the ladies. I’m so glad she requires makeup trials before your actual day, i was able to play with different colors for my lips and It all looked perfect on the day of. If you’re not used to wearing makeup like me, it can be tough to get used to wearing it when you need to ..but Martha made me look like me, I still felt like me but a more put together and enhanced me! I received so many compliments and lost count of how many people asked me “wow you look gorgeous, who did your hair and makeup” Martha uses high quality makeup, is highly hygienic, I did not have a single break out from the makeup. When planning my bridal makeup I wanted to just do it myself and when I told my husband he told me no I want you to look how you did for the wedding 3 years ago. Honestly, that was the best choice I’ve ever made, I am so glad I took her classes because she really pushes you to learn and makes you get out of your comfort zone..I don’t really have any experience in doing hair so these classes were very helpful, I learned so much! She lectures first hour of the class and then she does a hair demo, and later gives you time to practice IN CLASS so she can walk around and help out her students. My family owns Nestldown and when it came time to plan my own wedding, we wanted to find someone who was experienced with the property, the timeline and extremely professional/talented - we found that with Martha and Beauty innovations.I had my first trial with her about a year ago and she not only listened to what I wanted but encouraged feedback and was eager to get it right! She would clean all of her makeup and had a really well organized makeup set up and easy to find studio. She sent us instructions to make sure we got the most out of our trial and it was great!Once we found the dress, I realized what I had originally wanted might not have been right for me - so we combined my engagement shoot and a second trial (to save money) and we found what the perfect look! Not one time throughout the process did Martha make me feel like changing my mind was a burden.The weeks leading up to the day, she sent me a schedule of hair and makeup, timing for arrival and recommendations of information to convey to my bridesmaids, mothers, family and officiant. On the day of, she brought 3 other artists with her and completed 15(!!!!!!!) womens hair and makeup not just on time but early. While she and her team can do glam - and they do it well - they also made the girls who prefer not to have glam makeup feel beautiful and like themselves!
